Purple Peace

Good afternoon everyone!  Another post today as I'm busy making Christmas cards.  I made this one a couple of nights ago using a stamp set from PTI called Snowflake Serenade.  Bazzill card stock, some ribbon  and a button from stash, CTMH ink, Sakura Stardust pen.  Easy peasy and oh so pretty!

12 Days of Christmas Betty Style - Day 3

Good morning all!  It's time for another fun round of challenges at Simply Betty Challenges!  We've moved on to Day 3...
Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree your branches are so dry and creepy!
So you can guess what the challenge is, right?  Using any SBS image incorporate a creepy Christmas tree! Just think Emo! I think if it were up to our youth there would be ornaments with bats, skulls and spiders! Make it cute, make it scary whatever you do, just make it a Creepy Christmas Tree!

I used none other than Rio Trimming the Tree from the Emo Christmas line.  She was perfect for this challenge!  I used a digi DP, tree and then decorated it with some skulls and other goodies before printing it out.  Colored with Copics, CTMH Liquid Glass, Spica clear glitter marker, silver paint pen, card stock from stash.

Be sure to visit the Simply Betty Challenge blog to check out the rest of the awesome projects made for your inspiration!  :O)

In Gladness Abound

I made this card for the Inspiration Challenge over on Split Coast this week - my good stamping friend Anne Harada was hosting this week and what a wonderful homespun site she had to inspire us - The Country Porch. I didn't have to go any further then the home page - where this Pine Cone Kitchen set caught my eye.
I stamped my own plaid background using the thick plaid stamp from Pic-Nic Patterns and then the pretty pine bough from Festive Foliage right over the plaid.
I stamped the sentiment from Compliments of the Season and cut it with a deckled edge rectangle nestie. Then I just added a little gingham ribbon knot, some dazzling diamonds over the pine bough and distressed the edges.
In case you cannot read the lovely sentiment - it says "May Christmas at your house in gladness abound and may Health and Good Cheer live there all the year round."

All my stamps are from Waltzingmouse
Stamps: Waltzingmouse - PicNic Patterns, Festive Foliage, Compliments of the season
Paper: Naturals Ivory - SU, Pine feather, Plum Pudding - PTI
Ink: Memento - tuxedo black, sweet plum, rhubarb stalk, cottage ivy, Ranger Distress Tea Dye
Accessories: dazzling diamonds - SU,gingham ribbon - JoAnn's, Mega deckled edge Rectangle Nestabilities,. quickie glue pen, distresser - Ranger, glue dots

Whatcha Got Cookin'?

Hi there people!  I'm late, but I'm here with my challenge post for Doodle Dragon Studios Challenge Blog.  This next 2 weeks we are having ourselves a recipe challenge!  You MUST use any Doodle Dragon Studios image, embossing (heat or dry), bling and metal.  This challenge runs through Saturday, December 11th!

I used one of the adorable Christmas peekers for my card.  For the embossing:  CB folder on the DP (it's hard to see), nestie is embossed, sentiment & bear's nose are heat embossed.  For the bling:  jewel brads, Stickles on the Santa hat, DP is glittery.  For the metal:  jewel brads, prezzie charm.

Come on over and join us and see the other amazing projects from the DT!

A Golden Merry Christmas

Hello dear stamping friends! I'm feeling better every day - and I'm able to fit in a little stamping in between dozing and taking it easy!

I have yet another Christmas card to share with you today - and it's also another one that is easy to make multiples of!

Criminalgrace was the Featured Stamper over at Split Coast last week and I chose her sparkling Winter Skies card to case. Instead of punching the snowflake - I stamped and gold embossed mine as well as the sentiment. My stamps are from Rubbernecker.

I flipped the sentiment to the top, dry embossed a Nestability square around the snowflake and added a sticky rhinestone to the center of it. The gold embossing is really shiny IRL - not so much in my pic unfortunately!

Stamps: Rubbernecker Winter Holiday Snowflake #1504 SO, Winter Holiday #2 Merry Christmas # 387-10
Paper: white - PTI
Ink: Versamark
Accessories: foam dimensionals, gold embossing powder, hot gun, Rhinestone stickers - Michaels

12 Days of Christmas Betty Style - Day 2

Good morning, crafty bleeps!  We're on to Day 2 of the 12 Days of Christmas at Simply Betty Challenges.  Here's what today looks like:

You're a mean one Mr. Grinch! Create a Chaotic Grinchy Christmas scene with any of the Emos!

I used Bahumbug Christian for my card...how could I not?  Look at his face!  I was originally going to make him green and grinchy as soon as I saw this image, but I never got around to using him for the release.  I used some hoarded SEI DP and a past sketch from Mojo Monday.

Stop by the Simply Betty Challenges blog and see what the other girls have been up to...and play along!

Meowy Christmas!

***Please scroll down for my 12 Days of Christmas post for Simply Betty Stamps!  Thank you!***

Good morning again!  It's Saturday, and you know what that means!  Time for another sketch challenge at Unscripted Sketches!  I saw this one and knew it was meant to be a layout for me...surprise, right?  LOL!  I just flipped it over for my sample.

I used the uber cute Kitty Note and the Christmas Hat digital images from Wink Wink Ink for my replica of Salem.  I merged them in Photoshop CS2.  This hat is so fun because you can add it to any animal, person or stamp!  Now that's versatility!  Not to mention it's just $1.50!  Woohoo!  WWI is also having a Winter Bundle Sale right now...it includes 5 complete stamp sets and the Christmas Hat image for $20!  Don't forget that these come in B&W for you to color PLUS colored versions (perfect for when you're low on time)!

Don't forget to check out the US Blog to see what the other talented DT members made this week!  :O)

Saturday Waltzingmouse Sketch - WMSC25 - A Little Joy

It's Saturday - and time for another Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge! Are you ready for it??!

I was counting up how many Christmas cards I've made so far and I need about 15 more - so surprise, surprise - I used the sketch to make a Christmas card! It worked up really quickly and is easy to reproduce - just what we need as we come down to the wire right?!

I used two Waltzingmouse stamp sets on my card today - Big Blooms - Poinsettia and the Joy piece of the sentiment 'boundle of Joy' from Frame It. I stamped the poinsettia on the white panel then sponged the edges and mounted it to gold and blue panels. My card is 4 1/4" x 4 1/4".
So come along and join us in the sketch challenge this week - you don't have to use Waltzingmouse Stamps but if you have some please do!
Check out the WMS Sketch Blog and get inspired by the cards the Mischief Makers and other DT members have created using this week's sketch.
Then make your own card using the sketch and link it on the Sketch Blog by Thursday 12/2/10 at 11:59 pm EST - you could be chosen Top Mouse next week!! Sometimes Claire offers little random winner prizes too - you never know!
Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Big Blooms - Poinsettia, Frame It
Paper: white, Enchanted Evening - PTI, gold - Marks Finest Papers
Ink: Ranger Distress - Faded Jeans, Chipped Sapphire, Weathered Wood
Accessories: gold trim - JoAnn Fabrics, gold pearls - Michaels, blending tool & nonstick craft mat - Ranger, foam dimensionals, 1" & 1 1/4" circle punches - SU.

Fresh Baked, Cute as Pie and Pumpkins!

Happy day after the feast dear stampers! I wasn't sure I'd be stamping today -but then I got inspired by two challenges - you know how that goes I'm sure!!

The Moxie Fab World Tuesday Trigger and the Free 4 All Split Coast challenge were both food related! (go figure!)

this cookie is the Tuesday Trigger

and the Free 4 all challenge was to make something with a yummy food theme!

So here's my gingerbread snowflake tag to go with my yummy gingerbread snowflake cookie!

To make my tag, I used a store bought tag from Staples. I ran two ink pads over my nonstick craft mat, spritzed it with water, then dragged my tag over the mat to pick up the watery colors.

Next I stamped the text over the tag which blurred a little because the tag was damp. Then I spritzed it again with a mixture of water and gold Perfect Pearls and dryed it a little with my hot gun.

I cut my snowflakes from felt and shimmery card stock and assembled as you see here. I stamped the perfect sentiment and layered it over the snowflake with a foam dimensional. Then I just tied the wrinkled seam binding through the hole in the tag.

The perfect tag for a gift of one or a dozen cookies!

And I just had to share - here's my sweet little grandnephew, Landon, sleeping in my arms yesterday at my sister's house!

And here are three little pumpkins I made and brought to Thanksgiving for the table.
I found a video on how to make them here. I found it 2 years ago and finally made them! They are really easy and look SO cute don't you think??Thanks so much for stopping by during your busy day today! Remember to come back tomorrow to check out the Saturday Waltzingmouse Sketch!

Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Text It & Half Baked
Paper: tag - Stamples, Vintage Cream - PTI
Ink: Ranger Distress Mustard Seed, Tea Dye, Brushed Corduroy
Accessories: Create a Snow Flake - Spellbinders, felt - Michaels, Foam dimensionals, scor tape, wrinkled seam tape, mini mister, Blending tool, nonstick craft mat - Ranger, gold perfect pearls, Mini Mister - Ranger.

12 Days of Christmas - Day One
It's Beginning to look a lot like a Spooky Christmas! Time to turn our favorite Halloween images into something Christmas! Take any Simply Betty Stamps Halloween Image and create a Christmas project!

I used the Lola Mummy Digital image for my card.  I had so much fun with this one!

Come play along with us for your chance at some awesome goodies!  Don't forget to check out my awesome DT Sistah's projects too!  :O)

Take Note

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone living in the United States - Kent and I will be enjoying the traditional turkey dinner with my sister, brother-in-law, my niece, her husband and my 'cute as pie' 2 month old grandnephew Landon. Don't you want to just squeeze those sweet little cheeks?!?!
Ok - on to a few cards to share. A co-worker asked me to design some thank you notes and personalized initial notes with a seashore theme. So I made up two designs for her.
For this set I used Rustic White cardstock from PTI - I thought it gave the feeling of a sandy beach. I stamped the frame and sentiment in Brushed Corduroy from Ranger. The row of shells is a $1 clear stamp from Michaels that I gold embossed. Unfortunately, the shimmer shows up better IRL than in these pics.
The initials below are from the Waltzingmouse set Victorian Alphabet.

For the second option I used Soft Stone card stock from PTI which is a really light shimmery gray. I stamped the frame in black and the sentiment and initials in London Fog -both by Memento.

The shells are stick ons by Jolee's popped up on foam dimensionals.

My friend Sandy liked them all but preferred the tan/brown/gold embossed ones. What do you think??

Don't forget to come by on Saturday for the next Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge! See you then!

New Release at Simply Betty Stamps!

Good morning everyone!  Happy Hump Day and Thanksgiving Eve!  Who's ready for turkey and pumpkin pie?  I know I am!  :O)  Better yet...who's ready for a new release at Simply Betty Stamps?  I knew you would be!!!  A fun new line called Sweet Gothic World Kids will leave you feeling satisfied...with none of calories!  Check them out for their premier on the Simply Betty Challenges Blog!

Without further adeu, I introduce you to Tilly and Alex!  Doesn't she look just like she's wishing for her very own Edward?  Wish granted, girlfriend...there's Alex showing up in her daydream.  I did most of this card in Photshop.  I printed the panel, did a little coloring, gave it a good dose of Smooch Spritz in Vanilla Shimmer, double matted it, added the ribbon and gave some extra sparkle with some Stickles.

Next up we have Sally.  What a diva!  I love her and those fun shaped balloons!  I decided to go out of my comfort zone on this one and do an easel card.  I have made one before this and it could hardly be called finished (though I was pretty happy with it at the time).  I keep seeing all these amazing easel cards and decided I was going to try it out.  Wow!  It took FOREVER to finish and it's pretty heavy after all the layers were added.  I used some of my favey Olivia DP from Basic Grey and the sketch at Taylored Expressions.  I even added a little stitched pocket where I added a tag for a note and a gift card!  I'm telling you, I am pleased with myself over this puppy!  Oh, take a look at that charm!  :O)

You can purchase these sweeties right now at the SBS Shop!  Don't forget to peek in to see what the rest of the team have up their sleeves...visit the SBC Blog to check it out!
