Three Colors of Sympathy

Betty Wright has invited me to host some of theTuesday color challenges over on Split Coast for the next three months and today was my first time! Whoo hoo!! Boy - it's tricky choosing colors that haven't been done before!! And, of course, you want to pick colors people want to use while still being challenged!

So - for my first shot out of the gate I chose 3 neutral colors - white, basic gray, and river rock. There's also a 'dessert option' that goes with the challenge - something extra you can do on your card if you want to - I chose using a background stamp as my dessert option this week.

First, I dry embossed a square Nestability frame on the card. You can see my tutorial on how to do this here.

I stamped the background text across the River Rock panel and adhered it to a gray panel. Then I adhered the panels inside the frame. Next, I stamped the label, sentiment and scrolly and cut it with a Labels 10 Nestability. I adhered the label to the text panel using foam tape and added one little jewel to the scroll.

So what do you think of the 3 colors I chose??? Let me know if you make a card using them!

Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Text It, Asian Garden Additions, Very Vintage Labels No. 10
Paper: River Rock, Basic Gray - SU, White - PTI
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Ranger Distress Antique Linen
Accessories: Labels 10 and square Nestabilities, foam tape, gem - Michaels.

The Colors of The Week Are...... To My Valentine

I'm excited to announce that I'm going to be part of the DT for the Color Challenges over at Split Coast for the next few months! This past week Betty chose the colors of purple, red and suede!

I made a little 4 1/4" x 4 1/4" Valentine for the challenge. I used 3 different Nestabilities - Labels Four, Labels Five and Labels 16 for the dessert option. My stamps are all from Rubbernecker

Stamps: Rubbernecker - from the heart/Heart Envelope #246-17, To My Valentine - From the Heart
Paper: white - PTI, Elegant Eggplant , riding hood red - SU, Bo Bunny Decaf Dot
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Ranger Distress Antique Linen

WMSC32 Sketch - Hi!

Happy Saturday dear friends! Look at the fun sketch Claire has for us - I think it's to remind us that, Yes - we WILL see flowers again......... sometime........after all the SNOW!!!

I was pretty literal in my interpretation of the sketch this week!

I used WMS Victoriana Digital Paper for my panel and lacey square. The stitched flower and sentiment are from Sewing Box Hugs (another one of my favorite sets!)

I sprayed granite Glimmer Mist on my flower and stem so it looks all sparkly IRL but you can't see it at all in the picture :(

This is also for the SCS Inspiration challenge today - this Gypsy linens set from Rooms by Zoya inspired me with it's colors and flowers!

Ok - so now you'll want to go check out the WMS Sketch Blog and get inspired by the cards the Mischief Makers and other DT members have created using this week's sketch.

Then make your own card using the sketch and link it on the Sketch Blog by Thursday 2/3/11 at 11:59 pm EST - you could be chosen Top Mouse !! Winners are announced each Saturday along with the new sketch challenge. And there just may be a WMS stamp set to be won too!

Anita Be Stampin Rubber Preview Day 2

Good morning, party people!  TGIF!  I sure hope the weekend proves to be better than this week has been!  How could it not though?  TOMORROW is the big release day for the new rubbah at Anita Be Stampin!  Today we're previewing the set called Bears and Bunches.

I got a cute mini mailbox from the dollar section at Target and altered it up using the 2 cute bears in this set.  The boy bear actually holds a huge bouquet of flowers behind his back, but I just cut them out for the use on my project.  I hope you like it!

Check out the rest of the projects the team made with this adorable set by checking out the ABS blog!  :O)

Warmed by Your Friendship!

artsy-em was the featured stamper this week over on Split Coast and her put on your party dress card inspired me to create this card. I used different colors and stamps but kept the general theme and sketch.

I bought this dress form die from PTI a few months ago and have been wanting to use it (New Year's resolution to USE my stuff!!!) and I also just got these great Circa 1934 papers from Cosmo Cricket. I paper pieced the 'form' part of the dress form! I sponged the edges of the circle and the sentiment with Ranger Antique Linen ink.

My sentiment is from Blessed by You and frame stamp is from Fancy Phrases both are from Waltzingmouse A perfect sentiment for this 'temps in the single digits' cold and snowy week in New England!!

I'll be back tomorrow with my card for the Saturday Waltzingmouse Sketch - I hope you can stop by and check it out!

Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Fancy Phrases, Blessed by You
Paper: Vintage cream - PTI, riding hood red - SU, DP Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934/Astaire & Chaplin
Ink: Riding Hood Red - SU, Memento Tuxedo Black, Ranger Distress Antique Linen
Accessories: Circle Nestabilities, dress form die - PTI, Blending tool & non stick craft mat - Ranger

Blingin' It On For Emmy!

Well ladies, this week we have a very special challenge for you at Simply Betty Challenges, as it's for a very special girl. Back during our 12 days of Christmas we had a special prize, which was a Custom digi image drawn by our very own Betty. A special young crafter named Emmy won and her digi is now ready, and the DT have all used her image this week for our Bling It On Challenge. So this week, since Emmy LOVES glitter we're challenging you to...

Bling It On!

I used all sorts of blinginess on my card!  Everything from glitter paper & rhinestones to glitter glue.  Hope Emmy enjoys my creation!  :O)

Okay, all!  Be sure to check out the Simply Betty Challenges Blog to see some very awesome DT creations...you won't be sorry!

Claire's Birthday Blog Waltz!

The WMS Design Team and Mischief Maker Sketch Team are delighted to be blog waltzing today to celebrate our Claire's Birthday!

Claire, as you know, is the owner/designer of Waltzingmouse Stamps. She is just the nicest, most genuine, caring person and I'm so happy and honored to be on her Design Team

The waltz starts at the WMS blog where you'll find the order of the dance if you get lost along the way.

So please waltz along with us today to see a variety of the wonderful stamps Claire has designed and to help us wish her the most happiest of birthdays!

If you came here from Jennifer's blog - you are on the right track!

I went with a green palet today (thinking of Ireland where Claire lives, I guess!). I started with a piece of celtic squares digital paper from WMS. I used stamps from Faux Fun Circles, Victorian Frippery and Frame It on the front. I used circle and lacey circle Nestabilities.

And here's the inside of the card where I used stamps from Frame It and Faux Fun Circles.

Claire always says 'hope it tickles' so I thought it was quite appropriate here!

Happy Birthday dear Claire! Hope you enjoy your very own special Waltz today!!

And now if you'll be so kind as to waltz over to Mischief Maker Edna's blog to see what beautiful creation she has made!

Stamps: Waltzingmouse - (circles on front & leaf inside card) Faux Fun Circles, (frame, you're so fabby, hope it tickles, happy birthday) Frame It, (jolly good) Victorian Frippery
Paper: White, Simply Chartreuse - PTI, digital DP Celtic Squares - Waltzingmouse
Ink: Memento Tuxedo black, Pear Tart, Bamboo Leaves, Ranger Distress Bundled Sage
Accessories: Circle & Lacey Circle Nestabilities, rhinestones - Kaiser

New Shoes Cure the Blues!

Well ain't that the truth?  Good morning everyone!  Welcome to the next installation of Anita Be Stampin Challenges!  For challenge number 5 Anita gave us another fabu sketch.  Play along with us, won't you?  Click on the link above to see all the challenge deets, including the yummalicious prize!

I used the cling-mounted rubber stamp set Rosie Shops for my card today.  I thought we needed a little reminder that shoes can cure everything.  Okay, maybe not EVERYTHING, but it helps to dull the pain for a while anyway!  :O)  I rotated the sketch for a different twist...pun totally intended.

Don't forget that Anita Be Stampin is looking for a few talented designers to join our team. Do you already maintain an existing blog with multiple posts weekly showcasing projects made using rubber stamps AND you love our fun and flirty images? Then our team may be a good fit for you!  Check out THIS POST for all the details!

Thanks for stopping by today!  Please check out the awesome work from my teamies too...their links are on my sidebar!

Birthday Design 2011

Love is in the Air!

Good afternoon everyone!  I have missed you all SO MUCH!  Since when do I leave for over a month and not say a word?  Usually never.  I have a very serious family emergency going on right now, but I am finally "normal" (yes, I use the term loosely) enough to color and feel like getting crafty!  I can still use all the good juju you can spare though.  :O)  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year's...ours was trying, but good nonetheless.

Onward and upward!

Today's card features a new digi image from Wink Wink Ink called Love Fairy!  I love her!  I'm all about fairies, ya know!  Melanie did an outstanding job on this stamp and the other Valentine images!  The heart is actually blank, but I stamped the sentiment from PTI on it and embossed with white embossing powder.  I haven't decided who will get this card just yet...

Thanks for coming by today...let's make this a bit more regular, shall we?  Have a great day peeps!
