Another wonderful sketch design by Mischief Maker Kelly today! You could go all kinds of ways with this don't you think??!!
Well - here is the way I went:
I'm definitely in the Halloween mode with the release of Claire's wonderful new sets Cicely at Halloween and Gracie at Halloween. Today I used stamps from the Cicely Set - the sentiment, the bats and the little poem!
I used my Martha Stewart 'drippy' punch on the top panel and on a little panel under the poem (can you see it??)
I embossed the top sentiments with Ranger Distress Antique Linen Embossing Powder and embossed the poem with black. I sponged the poem after die cutting it but before taking it out of the die.
What will you do with this sketch??? Check out all the details on the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog:
Kent and I are spending the day at Merry Meeting Lake in New Durham, NH with a lot of his cousins - an annual event - hopefully we're enjoying the sun and the beautiful lake!
Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Cicely at Halloween
Paper: Orange Zest, True Black, Textstyle Hocus Pocus - PTI
Ink: Versamark, Ranger Distress Antique Linen
Accessories: foam tape, rectangle Nestability, Black embossing powder, Antique Linen Distress Embossing Powder - Ranger, Tiny Twinkles - Taylored Expressions, drippy punch - Martha Stewart, Wrinkled seam tape - Prairie Bird Boutique Etsy Shop, lemondrop bakers twine - the Twinery.

Ahoy Matey - A Witch and a Pirate Ship!
I have two cards to share with you today - both made for Split Coast Stampers Challenges, and both made with Waltzingmouse Stamps.
First up is a Halloween card I made for this week's featured stamper - I cased this fun 'boo' card of DaisyFreak's. The stamps are from one of Claire's newly released sets - Cicely at Halloween.
I colored Cicely to coordinate with the fun dots patterned paper behind her and I got to use my fun Martha Stewart Halloween fence punch that I bought last year dirt cheap at the end of the season! There are little bats on the centers of the longer posts that you can't see to well on this pic. I added a little bling to the front of her ankles, hat buckle and wand tip!
My second card was made for the Inspiration Challenge which was the web site Modern Lola. I was inspired by this fun pirate ship.
And here's the card I created. I used a Disney Pirate Ship die from Provo Craft. Die cutting it once in blue and once in white. Then I cut the white sail section (they're all connected) off the white die cut, colored black stripes on the sails and colored the poles brown and adhered them over the blue die cut with foam tape.
The sentiment and star are from Half Pint Heroes. (A great kids card stamp set!)
That's it from me today! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Waltzingmouse Saturday Sketch - All Hearts Come Home
It's the last Saturday of my vacation (boo hoo!!) but on the bright side - there's another WMS Sketch for us to play with! Mischief Maker Kelly was the designer again this week! Whoo hoo Kelly! Here's her fabulous sketch! This could be easy or this could be difficult!! - which is it for you??!!
I interpreted it pretty literally today and I made it a Christmas card with a paper flower on it for two of the Dare to Get Dirty Challenges going on over at Split Coast this week!
I actually love how this came out with all the blues and touches of white that I used. The pretty die cut lacey edges are from something I won from Paper Crafts Magazine last year - they come already precut in 6 inch lengths by Bazzill Basic Papers! They are different from each other but kind of matchey matchey don't you think?!
I used stamps from several WMS stamp sets on my card - the star and sentiment are from Seasons of Love, the dotted background is from Off Beat Backgrounds, the flower grid background is from Pic-Nic Patterns and the music background (behind the heart - see it?!) is from Musical Backgrounds.
I stamped the heart on white card stock, cut it with a Heart Nestability sponged it with Weathered Wood before taking it out of the die then layered it to a piece of blue card stock die cut with a scallop heart Nestability. I also sponged the edges of all the panels with Weathered Wood.
I didn't tape down the inside edges of the angled panels so it creates a pocket that I slipped the heart into - the receiver can remove it and use it as an ornament or decoration if they choose.
We also have an exciting announcement this week! We have two wonderful new Mischief Makers for the sketch challenges - two very talented and creative ladies - please welcome Iwona Palamountain and Kim Duran!
You can check out all this week's sketch challenge information over at the Waltzingmouse Sketch Blog , and please join along in making a card. You could win a free WMS stamp set or be chosen as a Top Mouse for the week!!
Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Seasons of Love, Pic-Nic Patterns, Off Beat Backgrounds, Musical Backgrounds
Paper: White, Spring Rain - PTI, Tempting Turquoise - SU
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Ranger Distress - Stormy Sky, Weathered Wood
Accessories: sticky pearls - Michaels, wrinkled seam tape - Prairie Bird Boutique Etsy Shop, Die cut lacey edges - Bazzill Basics Papers, glue dots, Scotch Quick Dry adhesive, flower die - MFT, Heart and scallop heart Nestabilities, cropadile.

Waltzingmouse August SOAP - Day 4 - Rewind to Afternoon Tea!
Welcome to the last day of the Waltzingmouse August Stamp of Approval Parade - today all of the Design Team is parading the Afternoon Tea stamp set. Check the end of my post to see how you can participate in a parade challenge!
Today I created a little teabox to gift to a friend filled with lovely teabags!
Our own DT member, Sarah Martina Parker, designed this box - I found her template here. I thought it was the perfect size for gifting teabags (2 1/2" x 3") and the handle looked just like the old vintage metal canisters.
After constructing the box and cover - I cut panels of patterned papers slightly smaller than the sides and adhered the papers to them - including the cover, the cover edges and the handle.
After stamping the teapot - I cut it out and instead of trying to fussy cut the inside of the handles (which I DID try disasterously once!) - I punched it out with a small oval punch. The sentiment is cut with a Labels Trio die by Spellbinders.
I stamped and hand cut the little teabag label, put a staple at the top like a real teabag (!) and attached a piece of black/white twine to the back. I adhered the label with foam tape and looped the twine behind the teapot, as if the teabag was already simmering in the pot!
So there you go - I hope I've given you a little inspiration for using this wonderful Afternoon Tea stamp set! You can see all of my Afternoon Tea projects in my WMS gallery by clicking here.
As our parade ends - we invite you to participate in a CASE (Copy and Share Everything) competition.
And now I hope you'll follow the parade one last time to see what the other Design Team members have created using this wonderful tea stamp set! Thank you SO much for joining us these past 4 days!

August Waltzingmouse SOAP - Day 3 - My Beautiful Girl
Here we are at day #3 of the Waltzingmouse Stamp of Approval Parade (SoAP)!! The Design Team is reviewing the WMS July release giving you more creative ideas on how to use the stamps you bought!
Today I'm parading the the fabulous prom/wedding gown set - You're Lovely.
I found this fun 'hugs' card pattern by Dina Kowal over on Split Coast here.
The felt flowers are cut with MFT flower dies, the leaves are Spellbinders Foliage. The sentiment is on a Spellbinders Fancy Tags 3. I adhered a rhinestone in the center of each flower.
I hope you'll keep viewing the parade by visiting the other WMS Design Team linked below - and please stop by tomorrow for Day 4 where we'll all be parading on older WMS release - Afternoon Tea!

Isn't this a fun shaped card?!! If I had a daughter - I'd give her this card when she was getting married!

August Waltzingmouse SOAP - Day 2 - Long Birthday Wishes
Welcome to the 2nd Day of the Waltzingmouse Stamp of Approval Parade (SOAP)!
I appreciate the lovely comments you left for me yesterday! Today I've chosen to highlignt the wonderful birthday/wedding/anytime you need a cake set Eat Cake!
I'm also entering this in the following challenges:
The Free 4 All challenge on Split coast - to make a CAS card.
The Cas-ual Friday Challenge to create a CAS card 4" x 9" (I don't think I've ever made a card this long!!)
The Play Date Cafe Challenge to use coral, petal pink and antique gold.
I used a Wonky Rectangle Nestability to cut the cake panel (get it- cut the cake?!?!) and a Labels 18 to cut the gold panel behind it. I adhered the cake panel with foam tape to give it a little dimension.
I just love the swag background stamp that comes with this set - I stamped it at the top and bottom of my patterned paper. I colored in the flames with a yellow Sakua Glaze pen but I don't think you can see it in the photo.
Please continue viewing the parade on each of the Design Team blogs listed here to see which stamps they are highlighting today - and I hope you'll stop by again tomorrow for Day 3!

August Waltzingmouse SOAP - Day 1 - A Monogramed Pillow + Gracie
Welcome to Day 1 of the WMS DT August Stamp of Approval Parade (SOAP)!
For the next 3 days the DT will be sharing with you more ways to use the July Release stamps - Cameo to Go, Cameo Creations, Ovals Classics Frames, Big Day Essentials, Big Day Additions, Eat Cake, You're Lovely, and Flourishes- Scallops and Dots and on August 4th we'll be highlighting an older stamp set Afternoon Tea!
Today I'm parading Cameo to Go
I was looking through the Serena and Lily Summer catalogue and came upon this pretty bed set.
It immediately reminded me of the pretty oval frames in the Cameo to Go Set.
I also used a background stamp from Pic-Nic Patterns and the A is from Victorian Alphabet. I added some tiny green twinkles around the frame. The lacey edge is cut with a Lacey Square Nestability.
Claire has surprised us by releasing 2 wonderful Halloween sets today (Claire LOVES Halloween and she just couldn't wait until the September release!) - if you've been following her blog you have seen the wonderful creations she has made with them over the past week.
Today I also have a card using the new stamp sets - this little witch and the wonderful sentiment are from the Gracie at Halloween set - the moon is from the Cecily at Halloween set.
The sentiment says "When all the world is sleeping and the moon is riding high, If you peep between the curtains you'll see witches flying by." So I framed Gracie as if we were peeping between the curtains!
I hope you'll continue viewing the parade on these Design Team members blogs and please stop by tomorrow for Day 2 of our parade!! And hurry over to the WMS Store to order your Halloween sets!

Waltzingmouse Saturday Sketch - Get Well Soon with the Balm of Friendship!
It's Saturday and time, once again, for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge!! This week, Mischief Maker, Kelly designed our fun sketch! Isn't this cool?!!
and here's my tag card:
I used Teeny Trees to create my little framed scene - I used the oval shaped tree to make my rolling hills! I stamped the background panel with the negative dots and one of the gingham stamps from Gingham + Co. The circles along the bottom are from Rescue Remedies.
Here's the tag removed from the envelope - The label and circles are from Rescue Remedies and the little bird and leaf are from Teeny Trees. I'm thinking this would be used as a bookmark by the receiver of this get well card - and a book would be the perfect gift to go along with this card!
I hope you'll join us in making a card for the WMS sketch challenge this week! You can check out all the details over at the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge Blog.
Please stop by again on Monday - the WMS Design Team will be having the August SOAP - Stamp of Approval Parade - that will run August 1 - August 4 - where we will all be inspiring you with projects created using the WMS July release stamps!
Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Teeny Trees, Rescue Remedies, Gingham & Co.
Paper: Vintage Cream, Dark Chocolate - PTi
Ink: Memento - Rich Cocoa, Bamboo Leaves, Cottage Ivy, Pear Tart, Bahama Blue; Ranger Distress - Antique Linen, Crushed Olive.
Accessories: Chipboard frame - Tattered Angels, wrinkled seam tape - Prairie Bird Boutique Etsy Shop, tiny twinkles - Taylored Expressions, glue pen, green library pocket - Bazzill Basic Papers, Labels 4 Nestability, cropadile, shipping tag - Staples.

Saturday Waltzingmouse Sketch - A Basket of Balloons!
It's an especially nice Saturday for me - first - I've started a two week vacation - whoo hoo! and second - it's time for the WMS Sketch Challenge!
I was the designer of the sketch again this week - I hope you find it inspiring!
I took a few liberties with my own sketch (!) using sentiments in the center instead of rectangles. My original plan (in my head) was to have 4 baskets along the bottom - but they didn't fit - so this design evolved! My card is 3" x 5 1/2" so it will fit in a regular A2 envelope.
And see my balloons?? they are actually eggs from the Spring Baskets set that I stamped upside down! The string knots are from Bitty Banners - I drew the long strings with a fine marker - the basket and Birthday Wishes are from Bountiful Basket Additions, the Bravo! and Hurrah! are from Fancy Phrases.
I left everything clean and simple - no coloring, bling or ribbon so this could be sent to a guy or a gal!
I hope you will join us by making a card using my sketch this week - you can check it all out at the WMS Sketch Challenge Blog. You could be chosen a top mouse or win a WMS stamp set! Winners are announced on Saturday's along with the new sketch for the week.
Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Fancy Phrases, Spring Baskets, Bitty Banners, Bountiful Basket Additions.
Paper: White - PTI, 2 shades of orange Bazzill.
Ink: Memento Potters Clay & Rich Cocoa.
Accessories: large oval punch - SU, foam tape, brown Micron 01 pen.

Friends of Waltzingmouse Blog Waltz - Birthday Wishes
Today I'm participating in the Friends of Waltzingmouse Blog Waltz taking place in the WMS forum. The theme this month is birthdays! Check it out here in the Playroom of the Forum.
My card was inspired by this cake from the Split Coast Inspiration Challenge yesterday which was the web site Maggie Austin Cake.
The fold of the card was inspired by Saturday's Crazy 4 Challenges challenge to use the Joy Fold for your card.
I stamped the top 3/4s of the cake with Versamark and the bottom piece with dark cocoa ink - then I put white embossing powder on the top pieces and clear embossing powder on the chocolate piece and embossed the cake with my hot gun. Finally, I stamped the cake plate with Versamark and embossed it with silver embossing powder.
The cake panel is tucked under the sentiment circle on my card. When you slip the cake panel out, it opens up to show the inside of the card.
I cut off the bottoms of the circles for the sentiment piece so it was easier to slip the top piece behind it.
The sentiment is adhered with thick form tape just along the bottom edge so the top flap can slip behind it
You'll find the Joy Fold Tutorial on Split Coast Stampers in the forums here.
My stamps are from a fun new set by Waltzingmouse called Eat Cake
Now I'm off to the WMS forum to blog waltz and see all the fun birthday card inspiration! Are you coming?
Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Eat Cake
Paper: white, Hibiscus Burst, Hawaiian Shores, Summer Sunrise, Plum Pudding, Lavender Moon, DP Modern Homemaker/October Afternoon
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black & Rich Cocoa, Versamark
Accessories: 1 1/4", 1 1/2", 1 3/4" circle punches, flower punch - Carla Craft, Rhinestone stickers - Michaels, white, clear & silver embossing powder, square nestability

Waltzingmouse Saturday Sketch - Get Well Wishes
Hi guys! I'm SO excited today - I designed the Waltzingmouse Sketch for this week!!! whoo hoo!!
And here it is!
And here's my card based on the sketch:
Today my card is all about the papers and colors - using just one simple sentiment stamp from Fancy Phrases. My card was even simpler than this at first - I decided to add the ribbon at the last minute - it looked pretty without it - but it does add some nice dimension to the card and also gives a good balance to the rhinestones in the top right corner.
I hope you'll join in on the WMS Sketch challenge this week - and I hope you are inspired by my sketch!!!
Check out the WMS Sketch challenge Blog for all the details - every week there's a Waltzingmouse stamp set up for grabs!
Happy weekend everyone!
Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Francy Phrases
Paper: Vintage Cream - PTI, dark and light blue - Coredinations, DP Websters Pages - Petite Papers/collection triple pack.
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Accessories: Rhinestones - Kaiser Kraft, wrinkled seam tape - Prairie Bird Boutique etsy Shop.
And here it is!

Colorful Stars of Christmas in July
I made this stary Christmas card for this week's color challenge on Split Coast. Karen was the hostess and she gave us Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze and Cherry Cobbler for our colors. A great color combo don't you think??!! Her dessert option - to make it Christmas or winter.
I also wanted to get my cards made for the Waltzingmouse Forum Christmas challenge for July - This month we were challenged to use stars on our cards. So I combined the two challenges! I make at least 3 Christmas cards for each WMS forum challenge - so I'll have 36 cards by Christmas! Here are two more of the same design just using different colors!
I embossed a wonky rectangle on the white panels then cut a smaller wonky rectangle in star patterned paper to place inside the embossed frame. My stars are cut with Nestabilities and adhered wth foam tape. I stamped starbursts on the stars and added tiny twinkles to the centers as well as some on the sentiment.
My stamps are from Compliments of the Season by Waltzingmouse.
Have you checked out the WMS Christmas Challenge in the Forum yet???
You can also read the details about it on Claire's blog here.
Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Compliments of the Season
Paper: white, Simply Chartreuse, Berry Sorbet - PTI, navy and light blue Coredinations, DP - Textstyle Bitty star basics, PTI

Happy Birthday for Sister and Mom
Happy Monday everyone - It was SO HARD getting back to work today. We had just absolutley gorgeous summer weather in Massachusetts this past weekend - I spent a lot of time in my garden weeding and mulching and enjoying the sun and soft breezes!
I was asked by a co-worker last week to make two personalized birthday cards - one for her sister and one for her mother.
I made both cards based on challenges over on Split Coast this past weekend.
When I asked my co-worker what her sister's interests were - she said that she loves clothes shopping - a fashionista! The Inspiration Challenge was to look at the website - Posh Vintage - a lovely shop for clothes and a perfect site to give me ideas for the sister card!
I was inspired by this pretty floral dress.
And here's my card:
I used the dress form die from PTI that I cut in white. Then I cut it again on this pretty origami floral paper and trimmed just the dress part adhering it over the dress form. The sentiment stamps are from Women of Life by Papertrey Ink and the background text is from Waltzingmouse Text It set.
I added layered circle Nestabilities, a bow of wrinkled seam tape and some bling!
Here's what I stamped on the inside of this card - the stamps are from Signature Series Dress Form by PTI and coordinate with the dress form die.
I was happy to see Patter as the Featured Stamper over on Split Coast this week - I 'met' Patter a few years ago when I participated in the monthly SCS His Holy Name challenges that she ran. (you can see the projects I made for that challenge here in my His Holy Name Album in my SCSgallery)
I chose to case Patter's Hi card to create the card for my co-worker's mother who likes the outdoors.
I used different colors and a die cut butterfly but kept her pretty sketch and basic design!
The happy Birthday is from Frame It and Mom is from Roses in Bloom - both Waltzingmouse.
Sister It's Your Day:
Stamps: Text Background from Text It - Waltzingmouse, Sister & it's your day sentiments from Women of Life - Papertrey Ink Inside card: Signature Series - Dress Form - Papertrey Ink

WMS Saturday Sketch Challenge - Welcome Baby with a Flourish!
Today I've got a card for the Waltzingmouse Saturday Sketch Challenge. DT member Belinda was the designer of this great little sketch.
And here's my card!
And here's my card!
For my center circle I used a stamp from an older WMS set called Vintage Circles Small. The sentiments are from Say It Loud (an absolutely WONDERFUL and versatile sentiment set!) and the flourishes are from the newly released Flourishes - Scallops and Dots set.
Something I just discovered when I pulled out the flourish stamps for this card - Claire has included a 'right and left' or 'mirror image' of each flourish (accept for the largest one) - so, for example, when I wanted the same flourish on each side of my circle as on my card above - I had it! I was thinking I would have to use a similar but not matching one and that's when I discovered this fact! (duh!) When I used this set in the sneak peeks - I only used the largest flourish so I didn't notice this then! Our Claire is always thinkin'!!
So - go check out the WMS Sketch Challenge blog for all the deets and to see the wonderful samples created by the Mischief Makers as well as a few of the DT. You could win a free WMS stamp set by linking your creation over there! Winners are announced each Saturday along with the new sketch challenge.
I'm off to visit my 'oh so adorable' 9 month old grandnephew Landon - my sister (his grandmother) is babysitting today and we're going to sit and adore him together!! LOL!!! And I might get to visit my other 1 month old grandnephew, James (Landon's new cousin) this weekend too!
Here's Landon - The avid Boston Red Sox Fan
and here's James - all decked out for the 4th of July! on his first trip to the family cottage in Maine.
Life is grand with new babies around!
Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Flourishes - Scallops and Dots, Vintage Circles Small, Say It Loud.
Paper: White, Hibiscus Burst, Sweet Blush - Papertrey Ink
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Pink Passion - SU
Accessories: foam tape, circle Nestability, flower punch - EK Success, rhinestones - Kaiser Kraft

Christmas in June
Ok, so I know it's not Christmas and it's not even still June !! Well - let me explain ...... I'm partipating in the Waltzingmouse Forum Christmas Card Challenge where every month Lynn gives us a new challenge to use for that month's Christmas cards.
The June Challenge was to use a big ribbon and I think I kept putting off making a card because I like to make my Christmas cards as thin as possible so they don't cost extra postage and I knew a big ribbon would be THICK! But when it suddenly got to be July I realized I better get one made before the July challenge got posted!!
So here's what I created:
When I thought big ribbon I imediately thought big ornament! So I got out the Vintage Ornament set and thought this background from Pic-Nic Patterns would look good behind it. The sentiment is from Compliments of the Season. The ornament is popped up on foam tape and the ribbon is adhered with a glue dot.
I always like to make at least 3 cards when I do the Christmas challenge so hopefully I'll have enough to send out when December rolls around - so I made three this month just changing the sentiment on the ornament. And you know - this silk ribbon is pretty light so I bet if I do mail them it may not even be more postage! So much for worrying so long about it!!!
July 10th is when Lynn posts the challenge for this month - you should check it out and come join us! You'll thank me in December!!
Stamps: Waltzingmouse - Vintage Ornaments, Compliments of the Season, Pic-Nic Patterns.
Paper: White, Simply Chartreuse, New Leaf - PTI
Ink: Memento Bamboo Leaves, Tuxedo Black
Accessories: foam tape, clear rhinestones - Michaels, glue dots, satin ribbon - May Arts.

WMS Sneak Peek Day 3 - Eat Cake with a Flourish in a Pretty dress!
Have you been loving the WMS Sneak Peeks so far??!! Well - today we have cakes, prom dresses and flourishes - what more could a stamper want I ask you???!!!! The new sets we are highlighting today are Eat Cake, You're Lovely, and Flourishes - Scallops and Dots
For my projects today I made two tags- using plain old oaktag shipping tags from Staples!
For this tag - I stamped a flourish from Flourishes - Scallops and Dots on the tag using white pigment ink and let it dry. Then I sponged Old Paper and Milled Lavender dye inks all over the tag which made the flourish show up lightly in the background (do you see it?). Then I stamped the cake and the lovely icing and larger draping from Eat Cake and added some bling. Finally I stamped the sentiment from yesterdays peek, Big Day Additions, sponged it, cut around it and layered it over the tag with foam tape.
My second tag is all about the prom with flourishes, sparkles and a pretty dress!
I used the same process for the flourish and sponging on the tag. The flower, sentiment and dress are from You're Lovely and the flouishes are from Flourishes - Scallops and Dots. I stamped the dress on white, sponged it, cut it out and layered it over the tag.
Now let's go see what the rest of the DT has for us today! Be sure to come by tomorrow for the Design Team Blog Waltz when all these wonderful new stamps will be available to purchase at Waltzingmouse!
