Now that you have all the deets from DT Coordinator Jacquie -   Here is my card!

I used two of the Scooter kids on my card today - Alex and Audrey - and they're off for their first day at school!  Their back packs are filled with paper, pencils, rulers and crayons!

I did a little hand stitching on the side of my card - piercing holes and stitching with some bakers twine.  I even put a little sequin flower on Audrey's headband!

Now off you go to my fellow Stampin' Sisterhood blogs to see what stamps they're playing with today!

Stamps: Rubbernecker - Scooter Kids: Alex #570-14, Audrey #570-09

Ahoy Matey - A Witch and a Pirate Ship!

I have two cards to share with you today -  both made for Split Coast Stampers Challenges, and both made with Waltzingmouse Stamps.

First up is a Halloween card I made for this week's featured stamper - I cased this fun 'boo' card of DaisyFreak's.  The stamps are from one of Claire's newly released sets -  Cicely at Halloween.

I colored Cicely to coordinate with the fun dots patterned paper behind her and I got to use my fun Martha Stewart Halloween fence punch that I bought last year dirt cheap at the end of the season!  There are little bats on the centers of the longer posts that you can't see to well on this pic.  I added a little bling to the front of her ankles, hat buckle and wand tip!

My second card was made for the Inspiration Challenge which was the web site Modern Lola.  I was inspired by this fun pirate ship.
And here's the card I created.  I used a Disney Pirate Ship die from Provo Craft.  Die cutting it once in blue and once in white.  Then I cut the white sail section (they're all connected) off the white die cut, colored black stripes on the sails and colored the poles  brown and adhered them over the blue die cut with foam tape.

The sentiment and star are from Half Pint Heroes. (A great kids card stamp set!)

That's it from me today!   Thanks so much for stopping by!

WMS Sneak Peek Day 1! Cameos!!!

Welcome to the first day of sneak peeks of the Waltzingmouse July 1 release!   Claire has designed 8 wonderful new stamp sets to inspire your creativity!

Today the Design Team is previewing Cameo to Go, Cameo Creations and Ovals,Classic Frames.
My first card uses something from each of the 3 new sets.

The frame and the boy cameo are from Cameo Creations. (this cameo is so finely detailed - you can see little hairs on the top of the boy's head)  The sentiment, Dearest, is from Cameo to Go and the design line behind the sentiment is from Ovals, Classic Frames (which you can see coordinates with the frame!)

First, I embossed a square Nestability on my card base.  I stamped the frame and cameo on a white panel, layered it to a slightly larger black panel and adhered it inside the frame with foam tape.  I stamped the sentiment and cut it with an oval punch, layering it over the stamped line design with foam tape.  Finally, I added tiny twinkles on the frame and line stamping.

My second sample uses two of the new sets.
The little girl cameo and frame are from Cameo Creations and the sentiment, My Dear, is from Cameo to Go.  I love the kind of Victorian flaire to the sentiments - they go so well with the cameos!
Again, I embossed a square Nestability on the card and stamped the cameo and frame on a white panel.  I tied a piece of wrinkled seam tape around the card before adhereing the panels with foam tape inside the frame.  To finish it off, I added some tiny twinkles and a beaded stick pin.

Well - that's it from me today!   I hope you'll stop by tomorrow for a sneak peak of two more new Waltzingmouse Sets!

Now let's go check out what the rest of the Design Team has to inspire us with!

WMSC Sketch - Ahoy Matey! and a winner!

It's Saturday - again!   and time for the Waltzingmouse Saturday Sketch!!  We've got another sweet design from Belinda this week!
I wasn't quite sure what I was going to do with this sketch  -  but finally came up with the following card!

A clean and simple card with lots of empty space at the top!   I die cut the waves, layering them on the card with foam tape.  I stamped the porthole and face, coloring them with copics and slipped it behind the wave.  To finish it off I stamped the little fish on the wave and the sentiment directly on the card!

All the stamps are from the sweet little set called  Half Pint Heroes.

So why don't you join us in the sketch challenge this week?!!   Check out all the details on the WMS Sketch Blog.

My card also works for the CAS-ual Friday challenge -  to have a fun edge on your card -  hopefully my waves qualify for that?!  and also for the SCS Free 4 All challenge -  Stripes!

Now I'm happy to announce the winner of my blog candy from last week's sketch post!   My DH  picked #17 as the winner and that was Velta!

Velta said...

My circus images are from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps  Isn't this a great set for kids cards?!

I cut my green circle,  sliced off an edge of it and cut a slightly larger yellow one cutting the edge with Fiskar's scallop scissors. I embossed the circle with Tim Holtz Checker Board embossing folder.

I colored my circus tent, banners, tickets and letters in the sentiment with Copics.

I used the colors from the Create 4 fun color challenge. Green, aqua and yellow.

Thanks for stopping by today!   See you tomorrow for the WMS Saturday Sketch!

It's Your Birthday!

I made this card for last week's Featured Stamper over on Split Coast.

I really need some little girl cards for my stash - so I chose this sweet Fairy Birthday Card of Taylor's to CASE.  I used different stamps and placed a heart behind my sentiment but kept her basic theme and design!

My cute little girl is a digi image from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps called Abby's Birdhouse

My colors are from the Create 4 fun color challenge - pink, green, neutral.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!

A Whale of a Good Time - Friend to Friend!

I've got some new Rubbernecker Stamps and couldn't wait to ink some of them up!
I made this card for last weeks sketch challenge over at Split Coast.

I used a cool new background stamp called Crackle Panel behind my little whale.  I stamped Mr. Whale on a light gray cardstock and colored him a bit with light blue Copics. I cut him out and layered him over the stamped panel with foam tape. I added some blue gems and applied Glossy Accents to the water 'blow'.  I stamped the coordinating sentiment directly on the panel and added some blue gems there as well.

This cool style card was the Wednesday SCS Tutorial last week - it's called a Center Step Card!  I just had to try this out!

You can find the tutorial for this fun style card here in the forums of Split Coast.  Here's a side view.

I knew this sweet little Hannah image would fit perfectly on the front panel!  I stamped the image with Vintage Photo Distress ink and then colored her a little bit with my Copics. I cut the image with a square Nestability and sponged the edges with Antique Linen before taking it out of the die.

The sentiment is cut with a Lacey Square Nestability. The pretty dotted DP is Webster's Pages.

This card was really easy to make - you should try one!  It is larger than an A2 card - lying flat it measures 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" so needs an oversize envelope or to be hand delivered!

Inspired to Be a Clown!

A fun website, Cox + Cox, from Stephanie today for the Inspiration Challenge over on Split Coast.

I was inspired by these colorful paperchains and balloons to use some circus themed chipboard pieces I recently purchased to create my fun clown card.

I cut my background patterened paper with an inverted scallop square nestability then just attached the fun chipboard pieces!

An easy peasy CAS card!   This would work great for a birthday card or a 'cheer up' card don't you think?

I have had a terrible cold for two weeks now (settled in my chest with a hacking cough!) and haven't been able to stamp as much as I wanted to -  so I didn't get to the Waltzingmouse Saturday Sketch -  but I hope you'll check it out and maybe make a card using it this week!

Also wanted to let you know I'll be previewing some fun new stamps from Rubbernecker on Sunday and a DT blog hop on Tuesday for the new release -  so hope you'll stop by again for that!

It's supposed to be 60 today in MA (whoo hoo!!)  so I hope to get out and breathe some fresh air today and maybe clean up the garden a little while I'm at it!

Stamps: none
Paper: white - PTI, DP - October Afternoon/Modern Homemaker 6 x 6 pad
Ink: none
Accessories: inverted scallop square die - Nestability, chipboard stickers - Recollections/Michaels

WMS Saturday Sketch - Bravo!

Yippee!  it's Saturday - again!   Welcome dear friends!  I hope one of the fun things you will do this weekend (or in the coming week!) is create a card using this great sketch Claire designed for us -  using the 'oh, so trendy' banners! (of course you could stamp something else besides a banner too!)
It just so happnens that Waltzingmouse released two banner stamp sets on March 1, Vintage Banners and Bitty Banners.   I used stamps from Bitty Banners on my sketch card today.

The bunting, the banner and the little star are all from Bitty Banners.   My BRAVO! sentiment is from Fancy Phrases.  The cute little chipboard elephant is from a chipboard circus set called Kids from Michaels.

Now go check out the WMS Sketch Blog and get inspired by the cards the Mischief Makers and other DT members have created using this week's sketch.

Then make your own card using the sketch and link it on the Sketch Blog by Thursday 3/24/11 at 11:59 pm EST - you could be chosen Top Mouse !!

Winners are announced each Saturday along with the new sketch challenge. And every week one lucky entry will win a free WMS stamp set of choice!!

I can't wait to see what you create!!
Stamps:  Waltzingmouse - Bitty Banners, Fancy Phrases
Paper:  White, Hibiscus Burst, Orange Zest - PTI
Ink:  Versafine Onyx Black, Ranger Distress - Weathered wood, Worn Lipstick, Wild Honey.
Accessories:  Chipboard sticker - Recollections Kids/Michaels, foam tape.

Three for Rubbernecker

Here are 3 cards I made this week for challenges over on Split Coast.
I made this cute lil' cowboy card as a CASE of Featured Stamper StampGroover's Poor Dat card. I changed the image to a cowboy and used different colors. Instead of popping up some of the image I paper pieced him. Isn't he a cute little guy?!
This card was made for Saturday's Inspiration Challenge. Steph showed us a wall decal art web shop and I chose this Prairie Vegetation design. I black embossed several different floral stamps from Rubbernecker sponged the edges and added a pink butterfly in the corner. This also works for Thursdays Ways to Use It Challenge - to use silhouettes on your card.

And my third card was made for the color challenge - Betty's colors this week were Always Artichoke, Perfect Plum and Rose Red - her dessert option was to use hardware. I always find color challenges - well - a real challenge!! So I used mostly purple on my card - getting the green in with a ribbon and adding just a touch of red with the butterfly, the gems and a jeweled pin in the ribbon (does a pin count as hardware??!)
This is also for Da Mudder's Teapot Tuesday challenge - where we were to illustrate the Best of the Best or the Worst of the Worst for the A-card-a-me Awards. I'm illustrating the Best of the Best ie - a lovely fashion lady!
This card will go postal to Lauren - a young actress who has had to put her career on hold due to some health issues - we hope our best and worst cards will bring a smile to her face!
Well dear friends - we're halfway to the weekend - whoo hoo!
If I don't see you before - I hope you'll stop by on Saturday when all the Waltzingmouse DT will start sneak peeking the March 1 new release stamp sets!

WMS Saturday Sketch - It's Time

Happy Saturday dear friends! Do you have Monday off for President's Day? I do and while I hope to spend some time with DH (!) - I also plan to get some extra stamping in for the WMS sneak peeks starting on Saturday 2/26!! Wait till you see what Claire has created for the March 1st release!

But for today - we have this fun star sketch to challenge us!

I went pretty literal with the sketch (as I usually do!) and made my card a star shape using my Nestabilities.

I used the cute little rocket guy from Half Pint Heroes and the perfect sentiment to go with him from Free Spirit Sentiments. I colored the rocket with Copics and sponged the sentiment with Mustard Seed Distress Ink by Ranger. Then I just added a little ZVA bling. This would make a fun graduation card don't you think?
Now go check out the WMS Sketch Blog and get inspired by the cards the Mischief Makers and other DT members have created using this week's sketch.

Then make your own card using the sketch and link it on the Sketch Blog by Thursday 2/24/11 at 11:59 pm EST - you could be chosen Top Mouse !!

A Jar of Sweets

First - I'd like to thank you all for your kind get well wishes, thoughts and prayers - I can see a little improvement each day but still have to remember to stop and lie down for a while!

Joan Ervin had a fun 300th New Technique Challenge over on Split Coast today - We had to check tha master Technique list and use at least 2 techniques from the past. I fit four into my card today:

#39, paper piecing - cut 2nd jar top in silver and layered it over first die cut
#23, inspired by something in your home - gingerbread cookies that I made last week
#22 Dry embossing - my jar and top are dry embossed Shapeabilities
#28, Masking - I masked my gingerbread man to stamp the candies

This also qualifies for the Split Coast CAS challenge today - sponging - I sponged the jar as well as the edges of my card - and although this is a little more than a usual 'clean and simple' design there IS still a lot of open space on it - and it did work up really quickly!

This card will be going to my new grandnephew, Landon, who will be 3 months old at Christmas - he's definately my 'sweet boy' this year!!

My stamps are from Waltzingmouse

Ok - now I have to go and do that lying down thing!!!

Paper: Rustic cream - PTI, Silver - unknown
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Ranger Distress - Barn Door, Bundled Sage, Antique Linen, Adirondack - Meadow & Butterscotch

You Make the Grade

Happy Friday dear friends!! Isn't it great to have the weekend ahead of us?!
I'm so excited to finally be using my MFT Pure Innocence school girl. I have 5 different Pure Innocence stamps and this is the first one I've inked up! - what's with that??!!

I made my card today for 2 challenges - the Free 4 All Friday over at Split Coast that was to use scallops and the Shabby Tearoom challenge where we were to be inspired by this picture.

I paper pieced my little school girl's outfit and embossed the blackboard sentiment with white embossing powder. I colored the rest of the image with Copics. My flower is cut with a PTI flower die and I used a Labels 3 Nestability to cut the image. Everything is sponged with Ranger Distress Tea Dye ink.

Tomorrow Kent and I are going on a boat cruise on the Essex River with the Adult Fellowship Group at my church. It's supposed to be in the 80's and sunny so it should be a wonderful day on the water! Then we're all going to Woodman's, a locally famous seafood restaurant for supper - should I get fried clams or boiled lobster?!?!? or maybe scallops...... baked scrod....... fried shrimp.....????? There's nothing better than fresh seafood from New England! Yum!

WMS Sneak Peeks - Day #3 - Have a Blast!

Happy Saturday dear friends! You're getting 2 for 1 here today! I'm sneak peeking a new WMS set called Half Pint Hero (that will be released tomorrow!!!) AND I'm using the Saturday WMS Sketch to do it! whoo hoo!!

So here's this week's super sketch: And here's my card: Isn't this the greatest little rocket ship?? and look at the little kid's head inside!!

I stamped the rocket on the panel - then stamped it again - cut out the body of of the rocket, punched out the window and layered it over the panel with foam dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment "have a blast on your big day!" vertically right on the designer paper to enhance that feeling of the rocket taking off - going up, up, up!!

Finally on the inside I stamped the count down along with "Happy Birthday!"

This great kids set has 3 different 'modes of transportation', about 15 sentiments, several single words, 7 little faces and some other fun stamps.

So check out the WMS Sketch Blog and see the great sketch cards the Mischief Makers and other DT members have created this week! Some of them may be using new release sets!

The colors are this weeks SCS color challenge.

Flying with One Layer

I love when I can hit two challenges with one card!

The Clean and Simple challenge over at Split Coast on Monday was 'things that fly' - and the New Technique challenge was to make a one layer card.

So the flying component is obviously my cute little stamped plane with it's message flag from PTI. I've been dying to use this little set and this seemed the perfect challenge! I attached a little gem star to the tail of the plane but you can hardly see it in the pic.

I stamped the images on a piece of DP that had the houses and scalloped edge already on it. (The good people over at Eclectic paperie included a pad of DP as a gift in my recent order and this piece is from that pad- how fun is that?!? )

I adhered the full panel to the card stock so I hope this still qualifies as one layer!? I colored the images with copics to coordinate with the house colors.

Inside I stamped another banner with 'Happy Birthday' on it.

Friday Stamp Simply Challenge - Sweet Stuff!

I am SO excited to be joining Sharon and her talented team as the June Guest Designer for the Friday Stamp Simply Challenges!! Yikes - how fun is this!?!?! My stamping style tends towards the simple - so these challenges are perfect for me!

This weeks challenge is from Jenny Gropp and she wants us to create a card or project featuring something sweet - a stamp image, paper or an embellishment.

For my card I used one of the girl gingerbread cookie stamps and circle sentiments from the Oven Fresh set by Waltzingmouse Stamps. The beautiful ribbon is from Sharon's own Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.

Won't you please join along in the Stamp Simply Challenge with us this week! You can play anytime, as many times as you want! If you upload your creation to Splitcoaststampers, please use keyword, ssnotime142. And don't forget to upload over on Sharon's Mr Linky!
