Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past Blog Hop - Old Glory!

Today I'm participating in the Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past Blog Hop - the Theme is Old Glory.

I used stamps from two TE sets on my card - A Year of Sweets 2 and A Year of Sweet Sentiments.  I also used the Banner Day Die for my sentiment and Tiny Twinkles on the sentiment and fireworks.  I also added some dazzling diamonds to my fireworks so they look really sparkly IRL - I think you can see it a little bit on my pic.

Cuppie has hiked to the top of the hill to get a really good view of the fireworks this year AND he's waving Old Glory!!

Wishing an early Happy 4th of July to everyone in the US !  The long weekend will be here soooooon!!!

Taylored Expressions Blog Hop - Make it Masculine!

Today I'm participating in the Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past Blog Hop - the Theme is Masculine.  You have to use TE stamps released prior to March 2011.

 And here's my card

I didn't have any specific masculine stamps to use -  so I used my cuppies to make an Anniversary card for  Kent - our anniversary is coming up in June - so now my card is made! ( you know how we card stampers never seem to have cards for our own family?!?!?)  Inside I stamped 'match made in heaven'!  Which is exactly what we have...!

What makes it masculine??  The colorful but dark colors, the minimal accessories and layers, and the twine!  Do you agree???  My sentiment is from A Year of Sweet Sentiments and my cuppies are from the Downtown Diva set

Here are all the bloggers participating in this fun hop today - let's go check out how to make it masculine - shall we??!

A Little Child to Love and Treasure

I made this sweet baby card for the Color Challenge on Split Coast this week - the colors Peggy gave us to use  - So Saffron, Pretty in Pink, and Pear Pizazz.  Great colors for spring aren't they?!   I thought they were super for a new little baby card too!   Just click on the pic to see it larger.

I used this weeks Taylored Expressions sketch for my card.

I colored bunny with Copics, cut him/her out and adhered him/her to the embossed panel with foam tape.  I stamped the sentiment and cut it close to the edges all around.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Happy Bird-Day!

I was the host for the color challenge over on Split Coast this week - my color choices were Marina Mist, Certainly Celery and Baja Breeze - I didn't have all of the SU colors - so I used some Bazzill papers - two shades of blue and a green and a pretty Cosmo Cricket patterned paper called Social Club.

My dessert option this week was to have a bird on your creation.  I used my Tim Holtz Alteration bird cage and bird die and a banner die from Taylored Expressions for the sentiment.

I used this weeks Crazy 4 Challenges sketch for my card design and my fun sentiment is from PaperSmooches - Birthday Buddies set.

TE Blast from the Past Blog Hop - The Magic of Christmas!

I'm so excited to be participating in the Taylored Expressions blast from the Past blog hop again! This month we were to use any Christmas/Holiday TE stamps on our card.

I tried to create a night time Christmas Eve scene - using several hues of blue and clear embossing all the images so the details would show up in all the blueness. The house, moon and sentiment are popped up on foam dimensionals. I cut off the bottom half of the house to have room on my 4 1/4" x 4 1'/4" card for Santa flying overhead!
All my images are from the set Holiday Wonder.
I wanted to create the feeling of a late winter's night, with the cold crisp snowy woods when everyone in the house is sound asleep! Truly the magical time of Christmas.

Here are the links to all the people participating in this fun blog hop today! I know you'll find a lot of great holiday card ideas if you hop!

WMS Sneak Peek Day #2 - Yuletide Blessings & Fancy a Cuppa?

Welcome dear friends to the 2nd day of Sneak Peeks of the Waltzingmouse October Release. Just 2 more days until you can order these for your very own!

Today I made a card and gift container set using Compliments of the Season and Holiday Labels No. 14 (yes - they fit in Labels 14 Nestabilities!)

For the images on the label on my little container I also used two older sets - Afternoon Tea and Afternoon Tea Sentiments. (that's a clue as to what I put inside! LOL!!)

I used Taylored Expression's sketch for my Yuletide card. The sentiment and snowflake stamp are from Compliments of the Season and the cool label stamp is from Holiday Labels No. 14. I don't have the Labels 14 Nestabilities (yet!) - but it was easy peasy to cut around the edges by hand.

Here's how my container started out - as a simple Betty Crocker Icing tub!

Since the top was red I really had to get it covered as red didn't go with my color scheme! I used some twill along the side edge and I attached this lace over the edge of the top, folding it down over the side and covering the top with a circle of designer paper. Then I just adhered a strip of the same paper around the base of the container.

I used the same label stamp I used on my card for the front of the container. The 'fancy a cuppa? sentiment is from the new release Frame It (I used this set for yesterday's sneak peek if you recall!?! or you can just scroll down and see it!)

I used petite oval Nestabilities to cut out the sentiment (Afternoon Tea Sentiments) I used on the cover here.
I tied the wrinkled seam binding around in the back - sort of like an apron (!)

So that's it! sorry I took so long today!

Now you'll want to check out the rest of the DT's peeks:
Claire
Julia (me!)

TE Sept Blast from the Past Blog Hop!

I'm so excited to be participating in the Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past Blog Hop today! Participants have to use stamp sets released on or before June 2010.

I used two sets on my card today - Fresh Flowers (the window, shutters and flower box) released in April 2009 and A Year of Sweet Sentiments (you brighten my day) released in January 2009. My sketch is a loose interpretation of the one designed by Sankari Wegmen for the challenge today.

I stamped the window on a piece of white card stock cut with Labels Nine Nestabilities. The shutters and window box are cut out and adhered with foam dimensionals. I used Copics to color my window.

Now check out all the inspiration you'll find from these blog hop participants!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope you enjoy the hop!

The King of the Yard

Hi my stamping friends! Phew - it's nice to take a breather after the mad rush of the Waltzingmouse release!

My card today was created for three challenges!

Teapot Tuesday this week is all about the dogs - inspired by a teapot decorated with a frolicking pup - we are to bring whatever kind of dog we have to the tea party. We also need to help provide enough sanitary facilities for all these canines - hence my row of leafy trees! My sentiment is a fun sticker by EK Success. The cute little pooch is Rag Dog by American Art Stamp/Emerson Quillin and the trees are Teeny Trees by Waltzingmouse (I told you I can't stop using this set!!).

I used Taylor's fun sketch for my card and the colors of cream and greens inspired by the Shabby Tea Room photo - to be inspired by Nature and Green!

Thanks for stopping by today! I'm back to work this week - but surprisingly it's ok!!??

Oh - and I keep forgetting to tell you all! My new little Grand Nephew arrived 10 days early - Landon Holmes Caggiano was born on 9/7/10 (due 9/17!) and since I was home on vacation - I was able to go to the hospital and wait with my sister for the arrival!

Landon's middle name (Holmes) was my father's first name (his mother's maiden name). My dad died suddenly at the age of 66 when I was just 28. Only my son (who was 3) knew grandpa but we always talked about him to our kids. So my sister and I were in tears when Katie told us Landon's full name (they had kept the name a secret until he was born). Landon is my sister's first grandchild and my first grand-nephew!
Here he is about 7 hours old!

And here's the new little family! Katie, Landon and Greg

Thanks for indulging me!!!

I made my little cuppie card for two challenges today. This week's CAS challenge over on Split Coast - the theme for our card was "Delicious". What could be more delicious than three frosted cupcakes, huh?? (hopefully they are chocolate inside!! LOL!!)

And I used Fridays Taylored Expressions sketch for my card design.

I used two nested long classic Nestabilities to cut my frame and popped it up on foam dimensionals. I colored my cuppies with copics and added a little bling to their flowers as well as the sentiment. My stamps are also TE.

I have not been one to do the shabby chic but I've been making a few cards in this style lately and I'm becoming more comfortable with it. Here's the lovely picture we are to be inspired by:

A Get Well Spot of Tea

A fun home goods web site, The Huset Shop, from Sweden was hostess Anne's inspiration challenge for us today over on Split Coast. I chose this lovely tea cup as inspiration because I've been dying to try my new tea cup template from Waltzingmouse Stamps!I just printed out the template on white card stock, stamped the Big Blooms on the teacup and saucer pieces and assembled as instructed! How fun is this!!

I used Taylor's Friday Sketch for my coordinated get well card. The designer paper panels are WMS Digital Celtic Squares papers. The sentiment is cut with Labels Nine Nestabilities and the chrysanthemum is cut with Circles Nesties.
My project also counts for Sharon's No Time to Stamp Friday challenge - to make a female oriented card (or Mother's Day). I think a tea cup fits the bill!!

Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful mother's out there! My son is taking me out to dinner tomorrow -whoo hoo!!

A 70th B'day and a Basket of Chicks!

Warm Biscuit Bedding was the web site Stef showed us for the Split Coast Inspiration Challenge this week. I found this cute robot material and it reminded me of the Cosmo Cricket Cogsmo paper I had.I needed a card for a 70th b'day party I was going to Saturday and thought this fun paper would help soften the blow of the old geezer and big number on the card!! LOL!!!

I used this weeks Taylored Expressions Sketch for my card.
The fun stamps are by Gina K - inside I stamped 4 sentiments from the set: "everything hurts - and what doesn't hurt doesn't work", "your birthday cake looks like baked alaska", your driver's license picture looks better than you do", your ears are hairier than your head'.
Hopefully Roger is still speaking to me after he opens his card!!!

Paper: vintage cream, ocean tides - PTI, DP Cosmo Cricket Cogsmo Mr. Roboto
Ink: Menento Tuxedo Black, So Saffron - SU, Ocean Tides - PTI

My second card today was made for the Featured Stamper challenge on Split Coast we got to check out Kristen's gallery (mommylvs2stamp).
I finally chose this peek a boo card to CASE - as I really liked her layout. I changed the stamps used, the colors and I left off the bow and brads.

My cute little chickie basket and sentiment are from Rubbernecker Stamps I paperpieced the bow and stamped the little chick again, cut them out and popped them up for a little dimension. I colored the image with Copics.

The sentiment is cut with a Spellbinders Ribbon Tag Trio 2 but I cut off the ribbon loops on the ends so it would just be an oval shape. I sponged it before taking it out of the die. This card is a biggy at 5.5"x5.5"

A Proud Flowered Wreath

I've got some Thanksgiving festivities going on already but of course I had to do some challenges!! I used the colors for the Split Coast color challenge, I made a wreath of flowers for the Doubledog Dare Challenge and I'm on my way to the Tuesday Tea Party at the Grand ole Opry to see Johnny Cash sing Give my Love to Rose (hence the flowers on the card!)

Phew - hope you can follow all that! I think Joanne (sleepyinseattle) wanted us to make a wreath using stamps for the DDC - and I used foam flowers but the ring under it is a stamp! (Note: I got the flowers from Taylored Expressions but I don't see them on the site anymore.) The pretty frame here is from the Labels No 1 set by Waltzingmouse Stamps and the sentiment is from the set called Blessed by You. The stamped label fits nicely inside the Labels One Nestability die so it's a breeze to cut it out whoo hoo!!

I wish you all a Blessed Thanksgiving!

A Thankful Sketch - with a Bird

This is the Taylored Expressions sketch for this week. And here is my card using the sketch.

The Limited Supplies challenge on Split Coast this week was to make a thankful type card and to use a bird on it (kind of a weird twist huh?!) and we could use a turkey if we wanted!
I decided to use this lovely shaped bird from the Celtic Heritage set by Waltzingmouse. I thought it looked a little like a partridge and would work on a fall card. I used the same colors to color the bird as I used on the wreath. The wreath and sentiment are from the Peace and Plenty set.
Two of my panels are stamped with background stamps - the grid and dots are from the Off Beat Background set. The larger panel is designer paper from Papertrey Ink.I popped up the body of the bird inside the wreath and then layered the head over the body to give more dimension to it. I added some gems to the wreath and sentiment for a little shimmer. The images are colored with Copics.
I'm off to teach a class Saturday morning up at The Paper Tree in Manchester, NH my favorite stamping shop! - I'll show you what we made later this weekend so be sure to come by again!

Believe and Hope and Pics of the Fair

Gosh - I had such a busy weekend - our church fair was Fri and Sat (see pics at end of this post!) - then DH and I went to a coffee house to see two Irish singers Sat night, and then I had church this morning - BUT of course, I still had to stamp!

So here are two projects I did combining several challenges this weekend.
The featured stamper today was Rachelhope13 - I had not been in her gallery before so it was fun checking out all her cards! I finally chose this plaid stocking card to case.

I used a different stamp, made my own plaid background panel with stamps, tilted the image panel and lowered the ribbon!

For my ribbon - I used the buttony bow technique that Joanne created . She is offering a chance to win blog candy if you link a card using this technique - you can see her video tutorial here ETA: Joanne picked my card as one of her 10 favs!

I have been wanting try out my new Waltzingmouse Offbeat Background stamps to make a plaid background so caseing this card was the perfect opportunity. First I stamped the plaid horizontally using scarlet ink - then I stamped it vertically using blue ink. I machine stitched around this piece. I paper pierced around the image panel - and the stocking itself has a stamped stitched edge as do all the stamps in this set (that makes it easy huh!?!)

I distressed around all the edges and sponged them with So Saffron ink. I layered the stocking image - first stamping it on the white panel - then on scarlet and two different designer papers - cutting out pieces and layering them over each other using foam dimensionals.
Stamps: Waltzingmouse Stamps: Off Bead Backgrounds, Sewing Box Christmas
Paper: white, Spring rain, scarlet jewsll - PTI, DP - SU
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, so saffron - SU, Spring raind, Scarlet Jewell - PTI
Accessories: sponge, sewing machine, saddle stitched spring rain ribbon - PTI, twine - PTI, vintage button - PTI, paper piercer - SU, circle punches, foam dimensionals, distresser - Heidi Swapp

My second project is actually a 6x6 page that I made for the His Holy Name challenges that I do every other Sunday. See my side bar for a link.

You can find Patter's challenges here in the SCS forums God's attribute for week 19 was The Word. I chose Psalm 130:5 to illustrate the word for my page today.

I thought this image block from Cosmo Cricket Earth Love designer paper fit it beautifully. I can just feel God's breezes swirling around this girl - waiting for the Lord on this hilllside - can't you??

I used Friday's Taylored Expressions sketch for this page as well as Sharon's no time to stamp challenge to make a square card and only use square corners. (Round embellishments are ok so I think it was ok to have curvy shapes on the dp?!)
Stamps: none
Paper: vintage cream, new leaf: PTI, DP Cosmo Cricket Earth Love/elements/relive/ reuse
Ink: none
Accessories: square punch
And finally - here are some pics from our church fair - we had a full house crowd on Friday night and I forgot to take pictures we were so busy! So these were taken Saturday morning just as we opened - we didn't have as big a crowd on Saturday but there was a steady trickle of people luckily!
Here are Lillian, Dot and Sandy - displaying all the wonderful hand knit items people donate for us to sell.
Here's Cathy and her granddaughter - selling what's left on the Home Backed Goods table. You couldn't even see the tablecloth on Friday night!

Some of the ladies put together various themed baskets (kids, wine, bath and body, etc) for a raffle. Here's Linda ready to sell tickets! Our Country Store table is in the background - here we sell bakery bread, home made baked beans, corn chowder, fresh popped pop corn, canned jellies, relishes and Apple Cider.
Here's me, Jeannine, and Elizabeth at our D'Vine Cards Table - where we sell hand stamped cards and crafts. Jeannine got us these cute autumn aprons at Joanne's for us to wear. We are all a little exhausted!
Dale and her daughter and friend Peggy make holiday gifts/decorations all year long to sell at this packed table!
Here's a shot of the main hall - we also have a sncak bar and Attic Treasures room downstairs.

And here's Jane selling what's left at the jewelry table - The crowds flock to this table first on Friday night - hoping to find that million dollar gem that someone gave away not realizing the value of it!!!

And finally - here are 6 year old twins, Paige and Gweneth with mum, Elizabeth. They were a great help to us at our card table - putting sales in the bags and giving out change - they love to stamp too! I didn't know that Elizabeth snapped this picture with my camera - I found it when I down loaded the others - It was a fun surprise - as well as a great picture!!

If you are still here reading this (!!!! ) ... thanks for sticking with me through this long posting!!!
