Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past Blog Hop - Old Glory!

Today I'm participating in the Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past Blog Hop - the Theme is Old Glory.

I used stamps from two TE sets on my card - A Year of Sweets 2 and A Year of Sweet Sentiments.  I also used the Banner Day Die for my sentiment and Tiny Twinkles on the sentiment and fireworks.  I also added some dazzling diamonds to my fireworks so they look really sparkly IRL - I think you can see it a little bit on my pic.

Cuppie has hiked to the top of the hill to get a really good view of the fireworks this year AND he's waving Old Glory!!

The Colors of the Fourth

A tricky Ways to Use it color challenge over at Split Coast this week - to make a Canada Day or 4th of July card without using red or blue!

So I used browns, yellows and oranges on my Patriotic Statue of Liberty Bear today.

I also used this weeks Split Coast sketch for my card.

My patriotic images are from Rubbernecker Stamps Check out the 20% off sale Dave is running this weekend!

Stamps: Rubbernecker Stamps - Patriotic Statue of Liberty #57-11, Patriotic Bless America Text # 194-07
Paper: rustic white - PTI, DP Bo Bunny/Decaf Dot

Accessories: Long deckled edge rectangle nestabilities, Copics: YR02, YR04, YR23, E33, E35, E37

Proud in NY

The Clean and Simple challenge over on Split Coast this week was to show something about New York City - skyscrapers, broadway, nightlife etc .

I have always loved the Stature of Liberty and I have several stamps of her - so I knew just what part of NY I would have on my card. I stamped Miss Liberty and my sentiment with Ocean Tides ink directly on the Ocean Tides CS.

I used a gold Spica pen to highlight the flame, the star and the rim of her crown. It looks shimmery IRL, not so much in the picture! Then I just tied a ribbon around the top - clean and simple!

Public Service Announcements!
Don't forget the sale over at Rubbernecker - it ends tonight at midnight! Dave is offering 15-28% off on selected items from Ranger, Spellbinders, Tsukineko and Clearsnap! - so be sure to check it out before it's over!

Remember to check out the WMS sponsored Inspiration challenge over at Stamping Around - you could win a WMS Sewing Box Hugs stamp set!

If you live anywhere near Hampton, NH - hop over to Stamping Around and sign up for the fun weekend they are planning for 4/16-4/17 - I'll be teaching a class there using WMS stamps and Lauren Meader will be there teaching too!! There are still some spots open and I'd love to get to meet you!!

Celebrate America the Beautiful!

I made this fun box for today's limited supplies challenge on Split Coast which was to use only Digi images and die cuts.

Well...... I needed to make favors for my 4th of July/MIL's B'day cookout that we are hosting on Sunday - and I didn't have a Patriotic digi image.... so I used a clip art image from The Vintage Workshop from the Cute as A Button set. I used a scalloped square nestability and a star Shapeability as die cuts. The box is one of Lauren's timeless templates from PTI. Now I just need to make 6 more!

Stamps: none
Paper: SU: Naturals Ivory, Night of Navy, PTI: Pure Poppy, DP GCD Studios Bedtime Stories
Ink: Denim Adirondack
Accessories: foam dimensionals, sponge, star Shapeabilities, scalloped square Nestabilities, clip art: The Vintage Workshop, Crop a dile, exacto knife, scor pal, scor tape, ribbon: Michaels, Ready Set Wrap Template: PTI

I made this card for the Ways to Use it Challenge on Split Coast this week - The challenge was to use corrogated cardboard on your card. I ripped the top layer partially off and cut it with my Nested Flowers Shapeability. I embossed the background - inking the inside of the Leafy Branch folder to color the impression (not too noticeable in the picture - IRL the leaves are darker then the background!). The butterfly is a layered sticker from K&Co. The sentiment uses two different PTI sets - Borders & Corners (Circles) and Limitless labels.

Have a safe and happy 4th of July Celebration to everyone here in the USA!!

We're finally having sunshine today here in MA after 2 weeks of rain- although thunder storms are predicted for tonight and tomorrow night - they say Sunday will be warm and sunny for my cookout Whooo Hoo!!!

And a big heartfelt thank you to everyone who is serving in the military and protecting our freedoms for us...!
