Celebrate!

Good morning all!  I hope your Monday has started out fantastical and continues through the week.  :O)

I'm popping in with my 2nd Guest DT post for Stamp Fairy at StampFairy Challenge.  Today's challenge is all something NEW.  Today I used a new card technique called the side step fold.  It was easy peasy and adds an extra little something to your card.  My daughter loved it and asked that I make one for her birthday.  :O)  I used 2 different stamps from the Lenny Cupcakes collection.  Each one had another bear with it, but I chose to cut them out for this particular card.  I hope you like it!

Be sure to check out the SF challenge blog and join us...we can't wait to see what you'll come up with!

Witch Way For Treats?...Edited!

This way, of course!!!  Welcome to another edition of the Showcase Showdown at The Digi Shack!  Today's project features another Halloween image.  Simple and easy to use...this witches hat and broom can be used on many projects.  I colored them with my Copics, cut them out and popped them up for dimension on my candy bar slider.  I also added a bit of Sakura Stardust pen to the hat's buckle and the wire on the broom...just a hint of sparkle.  The sentiment is from an Inkadinkado set and the paper is from Making Memories.  Ribbon is probably Offray, but it was in my stash so I'm not 100% sure.

I did make a tutorial for this once...if you would like for me to post it, please just leave a comment and let me know.  :O)  Be sure to check out the rest of the DT's creations...links are on the sidebar!  Have a sweet day!

ETA Tutorial!

1)  Take a piece of 6x6 cardstock and score at ½” and 3 ¼”.  Fold and crease well along these score lines.

2)  Add ½” Sticky Tape to the entire length of the ½” strip and the center section at one end as pictured.

3)  Fold the cardstock up and punch a hole in the center of the top end (NOT the taped end) using a regular sized hole punch.

4)  Open back up and peel off the tape backing and adhere.  Burnish well to ensure strong adhesion.

5)  On the closed end, score 2 lines to create a decorative edge.

6)  Decorate the front of your cover any way you like.

7)  Using approximately 24” of ribbon, thread one end through both holes you previously punched.

8)  Take your chocolate bar and insert it into the holder pushing the ribbon down with it.  Make sure that your ribbon goes in evenly on the front and back.

9)  Tie your ribbon and cut off any excess.

10)  By grabbing the end of the chocolate bar (or the wrapper), you can now slide it in and out freely.  Congratulations!  Your chocolate bar slider is now ready to give to someone special!

Gettin' Fancy...with the Folds!

Good afternoon everyone!  Happy Labor Day Weekend!!!  I hope you're all having a safe and fun time!  :O)

It's that time again...two weeks have passed and it's time for another Doodle Dragon Studios Challenge!  The current challenge is FANCY FOLDS and runs through September 18th!  I used the elephant from the Party Animals set and the directions found HERE for a T-Slide Card.  It took me FOREVER to make this one!

I hope you'll be able to join us for this challenge!  Be sure to check out the rest of the design team too...links on my sidebar!

Fancy Folds...Joy Fold for BSC#2

Good morning everyone!  It's official...I'm the parent of a teenager!  YIKES!  How scary is that?  I took him to IHOP for birthday breakfast this morning...we had fun.  He has been asking me what we were getting him and I always say underwear, so I made a stop on my errand run this morning and picked up a couple of packages of boxers for his gift bag.  I couldn't lie, could I?  LOL!  He'll be sooooo excited.  One can never have too pairs of undies anyway!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JAKE!!!

Now, on to my card.  I made this one for the challenge over at The Beary Sweet Challenge for The Beary Scrap.  Fancy Folds is the name of the game.  I made my very first joy fold card...how fun!  I really want to try (at some point) a swing card or flip flop card, I've heard them called...the instructions at SCS sounded confusing, so I passed it up.  {If any of you know of another place that has directions to make it, please let me know.}  On my card I used a brand new image from Wink Wink Ink called Hanging Out.  There is a boy and a girl version (b&w AND colored) along with sentiments...too stinking cute!!!  Be sure to get on over there to the STORE and buy yours today!

I hope you can see the dimension.  I printed two copies and colored and popped up her head and arms to make it look like they are really sticking out through the tire.  :O)  I love the effect.  I used some jute for the rope and I sprayed the Prima flower with Smooch Spritz to give it a little bling.   Not bad for my first attempt at this type of card, I think!  Have a wonderful day!!!

Under the Weather?

Happy Tuesday everyone!  I wanted to post this get well card I made for a dear friend who's feeling a bit under the weather.

I used the FREEBIE image from Melanie over at Wink Wink Ink!  It was perfect for my card.  I used a pop up card for it and I think it's pretty cool.  :O)  I added some Liquid Glass for the little water droplets.  It quit raining and he's just shakin' off the excess!

Remember that Wink Wink Ink will be starting a monthly challenge on April 5th...the first Monday of the month.  There will be prizes awarded, so don't forget to play along with us!  Darlene has a special post up that lets YOU get in on the action...give us suggestions for upcoming challenges and if yours is used there could be something sweet just for you!!!
