Saturday Waltzingmouse Sketch - For My Teacher

Can you believe it's Saturday again and time for another inspiring Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge!

Today I made a gift card/tag for teacher and I flipped the sketch. When I saw this design I immediately thought of this holly ornament in the Around Christmastime set
After I colored the ornament with my Copics I thought it looked like a lovely Figgy Pudding! I added gold sticky pearls to the DP as well as the ornament. The sentiment is from Frame It and the little holly is from Bountiful Basket Additions. The ornament and sentiment are popped up on foam tape.
So come along and join us in the sketch challenge this week - you don't have to use Waltzingmouse Stamps but if you have some please do!

Check out the WMS Sketch Blog and get inspired by the cards the Mischief Makers and other DT members have created using this week's sketch.

Then make your own card using the sketch and link it on the Sketch Blog by Thursday 12/16/10 at 11:59 pm EST - you could be chosen Top Mouse next week!! Winners are announced each Saturday along with the new sketch challenge.
And don't forget the Waltzingmouse 12 Days of Christmas! Bonnie is up today and Lynn will have an inspiration for us on Sunday!

Some Exciting News!

I'm thrilled to announce that I have been chosen to be a member of the newly created PSA Stamp Camp Design Team! You can read the announcement here on the stamp camp blog, and read more about PSA Essentials Peel & Stick stamps here.

I find myself on a team with a couple of my blogging buddies - Jennfer and Carly - as well as many new acquaintances. Libby is still announcing all the members over at her blog.

Here are the projects I submitted as my application for the design team and they were posted on the Stamp Camp Blog on October 5th to celebrate World's Teacher Day.

I made these magnets stored in a little tin using the set PSA - Super Star. The circles are mounted to a magnet sheet (I used my Krylon Machine with the magnet/laminate cartridge) so these can be used to hold those 'ever so special' school papers that come home every day on your fridge for all to see!
I even stamped on the twill I adhered around the box. The tin is from Papertrey Ink.
For my second teacher project I decorated a purchased First Aid kit that I got at the Dollar Store.
I used the PSA set Hello Kitty - School Days for the image - the heart circle framing is from the PSA set - UBU Dress Up. I used my Brother Label maker for the sentiments, added some papers to cover the label and tied a bow!

Here's what came in my little kit. Perfect for teacher to have on hand for all those little 'boo boos' that happen during the school day.

My last project was decorating a purchased note pad. I got this on sale at Staples for $1.oo (!) It already had all the M&M's printed on the cover.

Again - I used the PSA Hello Kitty School Days set. (the sentiment is Papertrey Ink)

So there you have it - some easy, fun gifts for teacher!
You can buy PSA stamps on line or at stores near you .

Thanks for stopping by today - I hope you are having Columbus Day off tomorrow - I do (Yippee!) - and I know there will be some extra stamping going on in my craft room!!! How about you???

Waltzingmouse Oct Release Sneak Peek Day #1

Hey stamping friends! I'm so happy to welcome you to Sneak Peek day #1 of the Waltzingmouse October Release!

We're also very excited to welcome two new DT members to WMS with this release - Joan Bardee and Sandie Dunn! You'll see their links below.

Today I'm using stamps from Frame It.

For my first card I stamped the frame that has a gap in the outline on one side just so you can stamp any one of the 18 different sentiments included with this fun set! Then I stamped the little tree 3 times in 3 different shades of blue inks. And to finish off this CAS design - I stamped the sympathy sentiment in the gap of the frame.
Here's a pic just to show you how I was able to stamp my trees evenly inside the box. I layed my little wooden ruler just below the frame - you can see that this frame measures 4" - I stamped my trees at 1", 2" and 3" lining up the trunks (you need to allow for the space that your acrylic block takes up when placing your ruler so I recommend lining things up with a clean non-inked stamp first!) This card is 5 1/4" x 3 3/8".

For my second card, I used the square frame outline stamp and the teacher sentiment. My apple comes from last year's set called Peace & Plenty.

I colored my apple with Copics, cut it out and adhered it in the center of the frame with foam dimensionals.
So there you have 2 Clean and Simple cards using this fun new set - Frame It -All the sets in the October release will be available to purchase on Thurs 10/7/10
Now you'll want to check out the rest of the DT's peeks:
